22-26 June ¡Bienvenidos a Alicante! Las Hogueras

    This is perhaps the part of the trip I am most excited about.  I've never been to Alicante and can't wait to go to this typical Spanish coastal city during it's most famous festival...  Las Hogueras de San Juan Bautista.  Here's a video that summarizes the festival...   Hogueras de San Juan de Alicante 2015 - Bing video June 22nd:   We will take a late afternoon train from Valencia to Alicante.  It's about 1 hour 44 minutes. From the Alicante train station, I'll arrange cabs to take us to our apartment. Your phone in Spain

Do I really need my phone while we are in Spain?         1)  Do you want to post pictures to your social media?        2)  Do you want to use Google Maps to get you around the city?        3)  Do you want to use Google Translate to help you talk to someone who doesn't speak English?        4)  Do you want to send messages to me or other travelers in your group while we travel? June 19th - 22nd Valencia

  Sunday (19jun):  I arrive around 12:30 to Valencia.  Everyone else arrives around 4:30.  You'll be exhausted!  I'll meet you at international baggage claim and we have a taxi that will take us (and all your bags) to the apartment. Monday (20jun):  So many things to do... but many are closed on Monday.  Itinerary to follow. Tuesday (21jun):  This is a great day to go to the Fallas Museum and the City of Arts and Sciences.  I have been told the Aquarium is amazing.  If you are interested, it's 35 euros to enter.   Wednesday (22jun):  We should walk around Old Town and see the sites that are closed on Mondays before heading to Alicante.    Things in Valencia to look forward to! 1. Welcome to my trip planning blog!

Spain Trip planning blog has begun! As I'm planning every part of our trip, I want to share with you all the newest details on our trip. Please reply in the comments as you have questions and thoughts about what we're going to do.   See the tabs on the side to see what I've been working on. Here's what is already worked out for our trip: 1)  Our airfare to Spain, leaving on June 18th and arriving in Valencia on June 19th. Fun fact:   Although Judy and Marla have met before, Judy, Marla and Jill will be on the same flight from Amsterdam to Valencia.    I still need to check that your seats are together. Do you prefer window seats or aisle seats?   Do you want 3 seats in a row?   Answers needed ASAP!
